Plain-language privacy

Your data stays yours.

Maura is designed so your headache journal remains on your device, not in a Maura database.

In one sentence: Maura does not upload or store your headache entries on Maura-operated servers; only the optional weather feature sends your saved location to an external weather service.

Information stored by Maura

Your headache entries, headache-free days, symptoms, possible triggers, notes, and settings are stored locally on the device and browser where you use Maura. Maura does not require an account and this journal information is not uploaded to a Maura-operated server.

Optional weather information

If you choose to enable weather tracking, Maura sends the location you save—such as a city or postcode—to an external weather API so it can return local conditions such as temperature, pressure, and humidity. No headache entry, symptom, journal note, or other health information is sent with that request.

Weather tracking is optional and can be turned off in Settings. The external weather provider processes the request under its own privacy terms.

No selling or advertising use

Maura does not sell your headache journal or use it to build advertising profiles.

Keeping and deleting data

Because your journal is held locally, clearing browser storage, deleting the app’s data, or losing the device may remove it. Use Maura’s export options if you want to keep a separate copy. You can delete local Maura data through Settings.

Website and app hosting

Although Maura does not store your journal on its servers, the hosting and network services needed to deliver the website may process ordinary technical connection information, such as an IP address, for security and delivery. This is separate from your Maura journal.

Children and medical information

Maura is a tracking tool, not a medical diagnosis or emergency service. Speak with an appropriate healthcare professional about symptoms or treatment.

Changes and questions

This policy may be updated if Maura’s features or service providers change. Questions can be sent through the contact page.
